How much do wedding flowers cost on average?? How about a price range???

I was just leafing through a bridal magazine at lunch and it said the national average is about $1200.

How much do wedding flowers cost on average?? How about a price range???
$70-$7,000
Reply:My flowers were so beautiful, I fell in love with them. I got so many compliments. We ordered flowers for :

1 bridal bouquet

1 toss bouquet

1 groom

5 bridesmaids

5 groomsmen

2 fathers

2 mothers

renting of arch for outdoor wedding

flowers on both sides of arch and on top in center.

two pilars on side of arch with huge bouquets

flowers for aisle chairs for ceremony

aisle runner

centerpiece for sweethearts table for reception

bouquet for table with guest book

14 table center pieces(including the tall vases which had roses in them)

all the flowers were mixed with roses, orchids, and beautiful flowers.

Everything came out to a little under 1,000
Reply:Difficult to answer without more details. It depends on the number of attendants, type of flowers, number of additional family or friends that require corsages, remembrance flowers etc. It could be more if you want flowers for centerpieces, the cake table, to decorate the church and/or reception hall, etc...and so on.

Whatever your budget, plan on spending about 10-15% of it on flowers.
Reply:$500 will get you flowers for the bride, groom, 2 bridesmaids, 2 groomsmen, and both sets of parents.

I need ideas for summer wedding flowers?

The bridesmaid's dresses are a blue-green color. I know nothing about flowers but I did want to incorporate another color in with the blue.

Here's a link to the dresses:

http://davidsbridal.com/bridesmaids_byco...

Keeping in mind that we are having an outdoor wedding and keeping a summer theme, any suggestions would be helpful!!! The wedding is in less than a month! Thank you :)

I need ideas for summer wedding flowers?
Go with white. Its awesome! If you want you can go with green! Green is such a nice color for the summer! You can put green lemons in a tall vase with water and green roses and green orchids!
Reply:Daisies were my first choice. They are white and there is greenery.

The dresses are cool, and you can upgrade to lilies, they are very nice. You can add baby's breath to make a bouquet.

White roses are expensive, although the small ones are nice.
Reply:Lillies. You can't go wrong.
Reply:Gerbera daisies and calla lillies. You can't go wrong.
Reply:The dress is really cute! I think a nice bouquet of white daisies with some greenery and tied with a satin ribbon or lace in the same color as the dress.
Reply:How about stargazer lillies? The combination of the shades of pink and white outline would look great with your color. A simple bouquet of one flower in the middle of some tropical greens would make a statement!

Good Luck!
Reply:They are wearing a very sophisticated dress, and I wouldn't want to put a lot of flowes with it. How about a simple small bouguet with possible some coral pink roses. I have seem some that are just a simple ball of roses the heads of the roses form the ball and then the stems are together with a simple bow. If you did this you could incorporate several diffent colors of roses in different shades of pink and yellows and even some deep purples or plums.

If you really want to keep if simple just have them each carry one single rose with a pretty bow made of tulle around the stem.

I listed a site below that you might be able to see what I am talking about, I am not sure what your budget is, and maybe you could scale the number of flowers in it.

I also wondered about some gerbera daisies, they can really add some color, just see what the florist can get in.

Congratulations!
Reply:Great dresses! If you like a kind of trendy, fresh look, you could use Gerbera Daisies. They'd be great for an outdoor wedding and can be died any color you can imagine. Below is a link that will give you some idea:

http://images.google.com/images?um=1%26amp;tab...

Callas are always classy and beautiful. If you used callas, they could even just carry one beautifully wrapped calla.

Finally, the wildflower look is gorgeous, and would allow you to have lots of colors. Good luck with everything!
Reply:Try something colorful would work. Almost anything color would look great.

Wedding flowers - centerpieces and bouquets?

Im on a tight tight budget - I will be having about 15 tables and 3 bridesmaids and 1 maid of honor

I need centerpieces and bouquets - I am looking to spend $500 (if not less haha) WHAT CAN I DO??

I do NOT want fake flowers nor gold fish or pictures.....

any other suggestions?

the wedding is in September

Wedding flowers - centerpieces and bouquets?
You need to buy your flowers in bulk and do it yourself. To get an arrangement done will run 30-unlimited dollars. To make one it's the cost of vase+flowers. Try

www.fiftyflowers.com

www.growersbox.com

I've found roses are the absolute cheapest... You can get like 200 roses for 230 dollars. I would keep your arrangements very simple and elegant. A cylinder vase from a craft store with a dozen roses in each, you could even get bud vases and fill them with one rose head and scatter them about the table to make it look like more.

Here some links.. i'm not sure what your colors are... but I'm picking what I like :)

http://www.fiftyflowers.com/product/Whol...

The link above is for 200 roses in any color of your choice, for 210 dollars. This would cover all the arrangements if each arrangement had 10 roses, and leave you 50 roses for you and the girls. 20 for your bouquet and 10 each for them. To make your bouquet *special* you can tie it with a special ribbon in your wedding colors, and add floral gems 1-2 dollars per stem of crystals/pearls. See link:

http://www.bouquetstems.com/

I'm guessing vases from a glass store are about 12 dollars each. That is another 200 dollars

So far we're at 410.

With your last 90 dollars...

Candles!!! You need candles.

http://www.candles4less.com/specials/vot...

the link above takes you to website where you can get 72 votive candles and holders for 37.00

If you order 2 boxes of these... you can put 8 votive candles on each table. I'm guessing your table seat 8, so either in front of the guests or circles around the centerpiece.

Remember too you can jazz anything up with ribbon. On a tight budget it;s best to go classic... spice things up with your colors.
Reply:I didn't use flowers for centerpieces because it was going to be too expensive (the flowers for my wedding were starfighter lillies)

I bought large bowl shape vases that stood about 6 inches from the table. I got them cheap on ebay and bought floating candles. I used both the regular ones and some fancy star shaped glittery floating candles. I made sure all of the candles would last as long as the reception (which actually cost me about $100 more but it was important to me).

I used water gels for water in the vases - they matched my color for the wedding.
Reply:Use more greenery - I shaved off $20 for each centrepiece by using less flowers and more greenery and they still looked lovely. Also use flowers that are in season - talk to your florist. You should still be able to do something nice for that price. Also use candles on your tables - and remember - no one really remembers the decorations anyway - you do much better spending money on making sure that the food tastes good and that there is enough food and that the music is varied and not too loud!
Reply:honestly i am on a super tight budget as well.

i found my mothers best friend that is willing to help me for free to do the floral centerpieces. she does this. shes a crafty person. I picked the type of flowers. and the idea of the centerpiece. I went to Big lots [ some store in miami] and i found the vases. i luckily found 10. which are the ones i needed $10 each. she will be doing my centerpcs.

try finding friends that know how to do certain things and they can help. in the end you can give them a thank you gift /note.

good luck
Reply:Have you looked online? you can order flowers online and search online for coupon codes to get a good deal, they had 36 roses for 29.99 the other day. I think tha included a vase as well. I am sure you can look online for ideas as to how to make some of the things you need for your wedding. You have to be willing to hunt and search for deals if you want the best. You can buy 250 bi-color roses at nationalflowermart.com. You can get 24 roses with a free vase from ftd.com for 29.97 right now. You just have to watch and search for deals. Good luck.
Reply:Are you allowed open flame at your reception site?

A 12 inch mirror tile with votives on them or an ivy vase with a candle in it. Sprinkle a little glittered confetti around to help catch the light. Depending on where you live this should cost you well under $100.

Gives you plenty of wriggle room for your flowers
Reply:for center pieces- round glass bowl, fill with water and put floating candles in them. i know i can find rose shaped floating candles at the dollar store.

bouquets- go for flowers that are in season in September. ask your florist.

best wishes!
Reply:Fresh fruit. A tall cylinder filled with river rocks and a candle.

As for bouquets, you should try and find some flowers wholesale online...Dahlias are a fall flower that are gorgeous and pretty reasonable.
Reply:Candles are not expensive, and that may help you cut down on the cost of flowers and they will also help you set the mood for your reception.
Reply:carnations! theyre extremely cheap but dont look it. especially if you get a good florist to arrange them! and they come in a gazillion colors and they hold up really well.
Reply:Mirrors look great with the candles.
Reply:go to your local grocery store and see if the floral dpt there can help you get flowers at cost or cheap. they are way cheaper than florists.

also look at costco if you have one near you. you can order bulk flowers

use gerberas and maybe some lilies- they are large and cheap. stick with lemon grass or tall grass for greenery

get varying sized or tall vases at walmart. $3-5 each. they do go on sale too

put the gerberas in there with the greenery. they will look great.

for your bouquets. have 5 gerberas per girl. hand tied. use ribbon to tie them off with that match your colors. http://images.search.yahoo.com/images/vi...

just a few less gerberas

for your moh add some wider greenery to her bouquet and maybe some cosmos to make her bouqet different. hand tied with ribbon.

do you need help with your bouquet too?

keep with the gerbera theme... http://images.search.yahoo.com/images/vi...

What flowers and colors work well with a november wedding?

my husband and i are renewing our wedding vows in november and i am having a hard time deciding on the colors. it will be a fall/country theme and i don't know what flowers or colors can be used and it not look tacky. all answers will be appreciated and if you know of any websites with pictures of flowers and directions to make them, then they would be appreciated. thanks and GOD bless you all!!!

What flowers and colors work well with a november wedding?
Theknot.com is a great site. My friend is getting married 9-1-07. She is going with fall colors.. oranges, reds, browns, dark purples.. all great colors. (Easy to find cheap accessories in those colors too!) Calla lillies are gorgeous and cheaper than roses.. they come in almost any color youd need. Smaller bouquets of those would look more casual or bigger for more formal. Use leaves as accents, under table centerpieces, esp. if youre using candles in your centerpieces.
Reply:Nice fall colors like reds, oranges and yellows. I love theknot.com, because it has so many pictures and real life weddings to look through. That's where I get all my ideas for my wedding!
Reply:My best friends wedding was September 30th of 2006. All of us girls wore a deep wine red color dress and her flowers were reds and oranges. It was beautiful! All the rich fall type colors are gorgeous and just about anyone looks good in those colors. Congrats!
Reply:You know what u dont have to base your colours on the season instead base it on the theme "country" I'm getting married in September and i dont want fall colours instead I'm basing it on my theme which is my country where I'm from in the Caribbean i want my guests to feel like there in the islands. You are renewing your vows try something different ! Try davidsbridal.com
Reply:Go outside and look at the trees, especially if you're in the northeast. Those are the best colors for November! I'm getting married in October and using orange, cranberry, brown and deep green.
Reply:I just answered this type of question, but here it is again. My wedding was 11/1806 and I chose fall colors. My wedding pictures are at www.pictage.com. Register as a new user, then you can search for my wedding. Driscol-Falcone wedding. We had beautiful flowers and they were very simple ball shapes on high pedastals. It did take about 8 dozen roses however, so it could get a little pricey if you did it yourself unless you bought straight from a flower district.
Reply:Rich colors that are not tacky...what about Wine %26amp; Cream? You could always use bone color table cloths (Cream) and use wine as a color splash for a center piece. If you are using silk flowers try lily's for the flowers as a center piece because you can create different looks with the wine, dashes of golden orange or yellow in the center of the flower and the petals of the flower use the wine color. To keep it in the country theme get cinnimon candles and place them around the center piece. Hope you can use a couple of the ideas %26amp; good luck and congrats!
Reply:Orange gerbera daisies would be gorgeous.

Ideas for using flowers in an outside wedding?

We are doing our own flowers for the wedding. I'm just wondering how many flowers need to be ordered for the outside...and what ideas do you have for doing that? I thought about having a hupdha(sp) or a terrace filled with greenery and flowers, do you have any tips? TIA

Ideas for using flowers in an outside wedding?
I would use silks if you are doing it yourself. Not cheap dollarstore silks....high end ones from someplace like Hobby Lobby or Garden Ridge. If you catch a sale (which they run ALL THE TIME) it can be half the price of real flowers, if not more and look just the same.

1. flowers need to be refregierated....what are you going to put all those roses in

2. are you experienced enough to make sure they are at their best blooming time on wedding day. From your questions..probably not

3. do you know enough not to choose a flower that will quickly wilt in the heat or make sure the smell doesn't overwhelm the room you put them in?

4. if you start putting together something and realize "I don't have enough" you can simply run out and pick up some more. Can't really do that on wedding day.

Plus with silks you have your choice of either keepsakes or reselling them to get some dough back and everything can be made weeks beforehand which really takes the pressure off. Splurge and have real flowers for something like your boquet but other wise....silk.
Reply:This is the website of one of my brides. Her floral designs are amazing.

http://www.verbenadesigns.com/Ceremonial...
Reply:Well Poinettas Are Nice if it is a winter wedding. Hibiscus For Spring And For Summer And Fall, Just Find Something That Is Light Coloured or Auntum-ish.
Reply:It's Chuppah or Huppah. 500 flowers or more. Depending if you want them to go all around. You can have them full in the center of the Chuppah.

Even you can purchase a foam ball (Hobby Lobby). There green and they come in different sizes. You can stick real or fake flowers in them. Tie them with a nice satin ribbon. Hang them from the Chuppah!

That way you can save money without having them cover all over.
Reply:Copy off of this picture only in your colors. It's beautiful and would be WAY easier than decorating a arch way or colanade. I too am doing my own flowers and we are copying exactly off this picture only in our wedding colors. You can go to Michael's or Garden Ridge and get the vases. Good Luck!

Has anyone ever ordered their wedding flowers from an on-line vendor?

I have ordered flowers on-line from http://www.mr-roses.com/ and am just wondering if anyone has had a similar experience. How did it work out?

Wedding is in 2 weeks!

Has anyone ever ordered their wedding flowers from an on-line vendor?
Hi. Yes, I ordered from http://www.rosesource.com/

for my son's wedding and they were fantastic. They arrived right on schedule and no problems. I would order again from them.

Two others that are popular are:

www.growersbox.com and www.bigrose.com

Both rosesource and growersbox sell LOTS of flowers, not strictly roses. Bigrose only sells roses.
Reply:im planning on using growersbox.com... its $320 for 120 stems: 60 orchid and 60 calla lillies... i haven't shopped around yet... this is the only place i've found those 2 flowers together ... I hope this is a reasonable price...
Reply:I'm thinking about doing this, www.proflowers.com send them to you already arranged.

What type of flowers would you use for a beach wedding?

i have to do a wedding project and the colors are baby blue white and a sandish color.

and it's on the beach, in the bahamas.

what flowers would you think would go great with those colors and theme?

thank youu !

What type of flowers would you use for a beach wedding?
Hibiscus or white orchids....Frangipannis are really tropical and pretty too!
Reply:If the wedding is being held on the beach, keep in mind that you will need "sturdy" flowers that do not wilt easily and will not be beaten by a strong tropical breeze. I attending a beach wedding in Destin, Florida and the bride's colors were purple and white. She used white and purple wisteria and the flowers were wilted and beaten before the ceremony took place.
Reply:I think that calla Lillie's and hydrangea may be good as you can find some blue hydrangea to match the baby blue.

check this site http://desbijoux.com as you may find some other interesting accessories that match beach wedding theme.
Reply:Any tropical flower will do as long as you like it. My personal favs are Dahlia's. They look great in bouquets
Reply:White flowers. Small bunches or singularly (this is my preference, as less is more!) of orchids or calla lillies.

Also, if you want a little more casual maybe frangipanis.
Reply:I would do a palette of tropical flowers in the bridesmaids bouquets accented with palm leaves for greenery.
Reply:My daughter %26amp; Son-in-law were married on the beach in Orlando Florida. She wore a traditional wedding gown, bare feet %26amp; carried calla lillies.
Reply:I would use tropical orchid leis

Suggestions of flowers for my upcoming wedding?

I am getting married in March 08. The colors that we have decided to use in our wedding are Pool Blue (as shown in David's Bridal), black, silver, and white. However, I am unsure of what flowers would appropriately coordinate with my color scheme. I need to decide on flowers to use in centerpieces as well as bouquets. Any suggestions?

Suggestions of flowers for my upcoming wedding?
All white flowers can look really pretty. Roses, lillies, hydrangeas, carnations, mums, daisies, tulips, snap dragons...there are so many choices for white flowers! You can use different flowers in one color to add texture to arrangements.
Reply:Here are a few options:

You can have light blue hydrangeas:

http://images.google.com/imgres?imgurl=h...

Light blue delphinium (beautiful):

http://images.google.com/imgres?imgurl=h...

White stephanotis:

http://images.google.com/imgres?imgurl=h...

Navona lilies (had these at my wedding, gorgeous):

http://www.thelilygarden.com/images_lili...

White roses:

http://www.justourpictures.com/roses/pop...

For a litte additional color since you shouldnt have too many variations of only two colors, there are these very pale pink peonies, soooo nice:

http://thehotpotato.files.wordpress.com/...

Or also a pale pink tulip:

http://z.about.com/d/pittsburgh/1/7/W/9/...

Or if you want a brighter color contrast (and this would look AMAZING with the black and silver highlights) you can have some pink dendrobium (aka orchids):

http://houseonahill.net/flowers/wp-conte...

And if the brightness doesn't suit you, a white orchid would look nice as well and would stick out some beyond the other flowers and look quite nice:

http://www.njsdesign.on.ca/images/botani...

If you want to go very simple yet elegant for centerpieces, theres this:

http://www.fantasticweddingdeals.com/Blu...

Anyway, I hope I helped :) My wedding colors were bright reds and purples (like jewel tones) and while those were the primary colors, my florist did an amazing job adding a few other colors here and there for some depth like some golden yellow (which i didnt think id like but he knew what he was doing!) and some hot pinks, etc. Just saying this cause you have a very beautiful palette for your wedding but you might be limited in flowers if you only look for white and blue ones. If thats what you want then thats ok too because you can still make beautiful arrangements with those two colors but added a little pink or purple here and there might be pretty nice too. Anyway, I hope I've helped! Good luck and congrats!!! :)
Reply:Blue and white Tulipans, I think is the best option. Very elegant.

I just got married in August, and this site’s checklist for wedding planning was excellent. They also have a lot of other free, printable checklists that are super helpful.

the color black can be applied subtly on the table such as maybe a black underlay
Reply:Try to stay with a variety of white flowers as much as possible. A nice creamy yellow would be a nice contrast, but just use it sparingly. Unfortunately there aren't many flowers in the silver/black area. You could also insert sprigs of rhinestones to add some interest.
Reply:Hi and congratulations!

I like your color choices. I like the pool blue of the bridesmaids dress. I am assuming you will wear white and the guys are wearing a black tux with silver vest/ties? That is where the 4 colors come in?

My first suggestion for flowers is to look through bridal magazines and online for ideas. Take your ideas and go and meet with a florist. You can look through their books of previous weddings to get even more ideas and they can give you ideas too! That is their business! Give them a budget and they can work within your budget.

What I would suggest is a little different than what others have suggested. I would not go with a white flower or a pale blue for the girls....that would be too dull and would not stand out in pictures. You want something vibrant, but also something that will look nice against the pool blue dresses.

I would suggest something with blue in it...but not total blue...like this:

http://weddings.theknot.com/gallery/gall...

OR...somehing with a little purple in it like this:

http://weddings.theknot.com/gallery/gall...

This one would look nice for you:

http://weddings.theknot.com/gallery/gall...

For the centerpieces...I agree with the other poster who posted a picture of a vase with blue hydrangeas. That would look real nice possibly on a mirror and then with some votives next to it.

Good luck and I hope I have given you some ideas.
Reply:I love the pool blue from David's it is one of my choices. I love orange so I was going to use orange flowers and peach against the pool, very pretty together. My tables at reception-we are doing a destination wedding-will be bud vases that will go in the center of the table with orange flowers, serving as centerpieces and favors all in one. Throw in some white flowers, maybe daisies. Good luck!
Reply:1. look through pics of bouquets on the knot and other sites and in magazines to get a feel for what you like - what kinds of flowers, what colors, size, shape, how big, lots of color or simple, lots of different flowers of just one or two, etc.

2. take a pic of your dress, pic of the bridesmaids dress, a swatch of your color and pics of any bouquets you found that you like to a florist. share your ideas, see what your florist recommends (and get a price quote) to see what you both think will look nice and fit in your budget.

trust your florist, they are the professional after all.

Has anyone used ProFlowers or any online florist for wedding flowers?

I've been reading up on their wedding flower collections and am impressed with it. And with so many horror stories I hear from brides about their flowers not coming out exactly how they thought....I'm tempted to go with ProFlowers so that I know exactly what I SHOULD be getting, how much, and what I can do if anything fails.

http://www.proflowersweddings.com/

What do you think?

Has anyone used ProFlowers or any online florist for wedding flowers?
My best friend used Pro Flowers to do her whole wedding. It ended up really great. She had SO many flowers and she spent about half of what I'm spending on mine. I was going to use them, but my venue requires me to use their florist. I totally understand why you might be afraid though, I've heard all those horror stories too.
Reply:Actually I think costco is only about 50 dollars cheaper on their rose one, for s similar package but you get less of the flowergirl toss flowers. The rest is all the same - boutineers or something. But proflowers allows oyu to customize how many of each you want, and they have nice pricing to add on other things you didnt get. I personally love the "I Do" collection, its got everything I need plus more. Would love to know how everything turns out Im not getting married for probably 2 years now, we postponed because of money, and have been eyeing this site up for a while.
Reply:My best friend used Pacific Callas, I am not sure if the carry other flowers, but her callas were beautiful!!!! Great buy on her part!
Reply:Not for a wedding but for a personal delivery. The flowers were beautiful and the delivery was on time.
Reply:Since we are a local florist and ProFlowers is our competitor, my opinion is necessarily biased.

Now with this caveat clearly stated, I think the real issue here is: do ProFlowers' wedding products satisfy your wedding needs? If they do, then I have to say that ProFlowers does offer a compelling value. But if you need more customized floral products or artistry, you actually don't have many choices: either go to a reputable florist or do it yourself.

As to horror stories, one common mistake some (but not all) florist makes is that they promise too much, i.e., promise way beyond what is realistically possible.

A typical example goes like this: a bride comes in a flower shop with the flower pictures she has pulled from a bridal magazine. She wants her bouquets to be exactly like those. The florist says "No problem."

But in reality, it is not easy to obtain certain flowers with exactly the same color/hue to those pictures. Partly because these pictures are "photo-enhanced" and partly because many of these flower colors are rare. Some florist doesn't want to say that, because of the fear of losing a customer. Personally, I think that over-promise is a form of deception, but it does happen, not just in florists but in many other bridal businesses. Unfortunate, but true.

In the wedding day, the bride is of course disappointed, because the color/hue isn't exactly the one she thought would be. Another "horror" story you mentioned.

By using ProFlowers, at least you can avoid this kind of disappointment. That's because their offering are all common flowers with common colors, so there shouldn't be any procurement problem. For example, take a look at Hydrangea: they offer only two most common colors.

You know that ProFlowers ship flowers by UPS/Fedex, right? Just make sure that someone will be home to receive the flowers and hydrate them as soon as possible.
Reply:I've never heard of them but maybe you can get some company background info as well as some testimonials to help you possibly use the selected florist.

Hope this helps
Reply:Wow! They seem kinda pricey! Have you looked into Costco? If you have a membership with them, you can order your wedding flowers through them.

http://www.costco.com/Common/Category.as...

Good Luck!
Reply:I've ordered from them before. Their flowers are always in beautiful condition. I've ordered for other people, of course. They have good prices and they do a great job making everything look great!
Reply:I would really discourage using any online florist. Online florists are usually about 20% more than if you went to a florist to purchase the flowers, not to mention the delivery costs. Honestly... go to like a grocery store that sells flowers and has a flower attendant... they have the same books that florists have for ordering flowers and they will do the same thing for a lot cheaper!
Reply:I seriously thought about doing this but I ended up finding a florist that would work with me and my needs. I love the bouquets but I wanted some other things, like flowers on the cake, that would have involved tearing boutonnieres apart and doing some fancy work, so I decided against it. I think they have some great stuff. I have ordered regular bouquets from them for birthdays, etc. and it is always of the highest quality and really beautiful.

What kind of flowers should I have for my wedding bouquet and my brides maids bouquets?

My wedding colors are teal and black with some silver. My dress is Ivory with a lot of teal in the back of it. The brides maids dresses are mixed half of the girls are full black with some teal the others full teal with some black. What kind of colors for flowers would you recommend? I thought of peach colored flowers with teal. Any ideas?

What kind of flowers should I have for my wedding bouquet and my brides maids bouquets?
Unless you really just want another color you can easily do a very elegant wedding with just the black, white, and teal.

I would do bridesmaid flowers in diff. shades of white (makes it more interesting to look at than if its all ivory). Add small touches of teal to them. You can use teal feathers, teal flowers, make small bows out of teal ribbon and put it on floral wire and arrange, create jeweled "branches" using wire and teal beads. If you are using a flower with a bigger center like a Gerbra Dasiy you can cover buttons in teal fabric and glue them in the center of the flowers to make a white and teal bloom. Wrap the stems with a wide black velvet ribbon to give a soft romantic look then accent with thinner teal ribbon and tie in a bow.

I've listed a link below to some silver mint julep cups that make gorgeous vases and aren't very expensive. Use them at the reception for your ladies to set their boquets in and decorate the head table, cake table, whatever. Add a few of the cheap tealights just in their silver containers. If you like you can wrap the tealights with ribbons in the teal or the black.

Use teal fabric and create a table runner for reception tables. Trim in black ribbon and place over a white table cloth. Your eating utensils will provide thefinal touch of silver.

At the ceremony get one of those cheap white aisle runners. Paint a wide teal border all the way around (like 12 inches or so). Then, use black to make the outside border (like 3 inches) and paint your monogram on the end in black. Use the teal to carefully outline the edges of the lettering.

For a bolder look that would really pop use teal fabric for an aisle runner and have a black border. Then, either pre-scatter them or have your flower girl throw white petals.
Reply:for you...I would do a variety of white flowers....all differnt types...for the girls I would do the same except with the colors of light purples, light pinks, peaches, and some white to break up the colors.
Reply:here are a few ideas i thought would look beautiful

-one mint pitcher plant, two standard calla lilies, one bells of Ireland, bears grass and mixed greens.

-one single white rose with a fern behind the rose and ribbon (use the colors in your wedding for the ribbon)

-also google "flowers for wedding" lots of ideas there for you

good luck i wish you a very happy marriage full of love
Reply:pink or peach or also like a off white with peach...just don't have freaking twigs! My cousins wife had her bridesmaids carry a freaking long stem rose with a teal ribbon on it, it looked very tacky
Reply:Pink would be perfect. Teal is a darker color and with the black and silver, pink would brighten it up so much.
Reply:pink or peach will contrast nicely, especially with some teal ribbon around the stems or with some sprays of jewels in teal.

you could also use white flowers, like stephanoits or daisies to fill in the extra spaces in the bridesmaid bouquets, and some white roses in your own.
Reply:use the peach and teal with black ribbon and silver fill. you will probelly want to go with more peach in your bouquet with a little less teal, and the bridesmaids, 1/2 and 1/2 with bouquets in peach with teal or black and the other color in ribbon with the silver fill in both bouquets. Best Wishes.

Wedding flowers, is there a list somewhere out there about which flowers to use on certain months or seasons?

I am helping a friend with her wedding and she is not sure which flowers to use other than roses, her colors are pinks and cream.

Wedding flowers, is there a list somewhere out there about which flowers to use on certain months or seasons?
You really can't go wrong with Roses all year round(except Valentine's Day). They're usually your best value too. Your problem with some of these seasonal flowers, like orchids is that they are awfully spendy.
Reply:This is a good list that will give you flowers by month and the colors they're usually available in:

This one is more pictoral: http://www.elegala.com/flowers-season.ht...

http://www.allweddingideas.com/popularfl...

This one gives the meanings of the flowers as well:

Once your friend looks at these sites, she can pick out ones that sound interesting and look at pictures so she's better prepared when she goes to the florist.
Reply:The best thing she can do is to go to the place she plans on buying the flowers from. The florist can answer all of your questions and give you suggestions about what others have used during certain months.

What flowers should I use for a black, white, and fushia wedding?

I'm having a little trouble thinking of what flowers to use to use for my wedding. The colors are black, white, and fushia. I am wearing a white dress and my bridesmaids are wearing black dresses.

I love gerber daisies and stargazer lilies, but I don't think they look right together. I'm really leaning toward the stargazers but I have no idea where to go with it.

Any ideas???

What flowers should I use for a black, white, and fushia wedding?
Hey! im a florist. My wedding colors are going to be fushia, black, and orange. ! :) For you i would do....fushia flowers. You can use, ranunculus (really pretty), peonies, roses, calla lillies ect. I think that stargazers with be too big for the personal flowers. For your decor...i imagine a satin black linen with white napkins and fushia flowers! so pretty. good lkuck
Reply:It really depends on your budget. The stargazer lilies tend to be more expensive then the gerbera daisies...but, it all depends on the florist as well.

Another option that you might like are the hot pink orlando roses. Those are beautiful and would look lovely with the black bridesmaid dresses; like these:

http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3281/2345...

Or maybe a combination of the gerbera's and roses:

http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2359/2339...

Or just use the fuschia gerbera's if you are trying to save some money. I think that they are beautiful...

Reply:ooo my colors are black and white....therefore..i've got white calla lillies and aa hint of pink orchids....i think orchids are very nice..they go with anything..but if you like those two flowers..then you should do that...it doesnt matter what anyone else thinks..its your day....pick the flowers you love...there is always a way a put flowers together...any flowres.....happy wedding!!!
Reply:Lilies are CLASSIC!!! If you like the gerbera daisies, you can incorporate them into the centerpieces or other decorations..... I'm having lilies and carnations in my bouquets and then using gerberas on the tables!
Reply:The lilies sound nice. but something white for them to carry will really "pop" out and make their dresses look striking, and well as compliment the only other white dress in the ceremony ....YOU. =)

Congratulations!
Reply:Check out these sites they may work

Reply:What about Black Baccarat roses? They are almost a perfect mixture of black and fuscia, and definately an elegant, unexpected choice.
Reply:ooo I have nice combo :O umm maybe a mixture? I think lilies are really nice. Google some flowers. Hiring a professional might be expensive but hold on I have a few ideas
Reply:Stargazer lilies would look really nice!

Go to a florist and put a few together to see if it's the look you are going for!

Have a wonderful Wedding!
Reply:calla lilies! They are so beautiful and if you didn't want to do white you could have them dyed the fuchsia color your using in the wedding!
Reply:what about calla lilies (white ones) and tie them with a fushia ribbon? they look simple and really pretty.
Reply:Stargazers, Sterling Silver roses, white Hydrangea, creamy white English Garden roses......
Reply:hey your wedding ! have fun do what you want , I would mix white roses with fuchsia colored roses or another same colored flower . sounds really pretty

Where's the best inexpensive place to get wedding flowers in West Bed Wisconsin?

I assume you mean West Bend Wisconsin I know of only two florists in that town Though I could be wrong. There is one on Main ST that does some nice stuff. For prices they are all about the same, try the pick and save maybe on Hwy 33

How much can i expect to pay for wedding flowers?

before i pick a florist, can anyone tell me how much they think i could expect to pay all in? i'm getting married in belfast, so if anyone has any handy hints about there, they're very welcome!

How much can i expect to pay for wedding flowers?
Flowers are very expensive, mention wedding and the price doubles. Go to a few florists and get price lists before choosing one, and ask if you can see some examples of their work. They should have a portfolio.
Reply:They're not cheap, that's why I decided to have silk flowers instead. To be honest I just bought some new ones from a charity shop and made my bouquet and buttonholes etc with them. They cost less than £20 and I have still got them 3 years later. Although real flowers are nice they don't last and nobody could tell the difference between them and my silk flowers so I would totally recommend them.
Reply:I paid $800 for my florist...that included her labor charges, all the flowers, and decorations... but I really looked around to find her... most florists in my area wanted about $1500 for the same thing

I used all real flowers... and all of my flowers were roses... but I did mostly simple decorations... the theme for my wedding was "simply elegant"... so my centerpeices only included a single red rose (with other stuff around it) and each of my bridesmaids bouquets only had 3 roses and the rest greenery and additions.... personally, i think fake flowers are tacky looking because they are obviously fake... I also think that weddings that "over do" flowers are tacky as well... your decorations shouldnt look like the flower shop blew up...
Reply:I have some weeds in my yard that need pullin' anyhow...

They're yours if you want them...NO CHARGE!
Reply:if you know of someone who can do this for you it will save you ££££sand some of the flowers you can buy now are so real looking my bouquet was silk flowers as I wanted mum to place them on my grandfathers grave abroad and they were there for a long time and people admired them,as they just looked so real by all means get quotes and see what you think ?do not worry as the flowers will look fab and just as good if not real happy hunting
Reply:depends on what type of flowers you want and time of year
Reply:You have to be more specific if anyone will be able to help you. It has to do with the type of flowers you want, what the season is and if the flowers you want are in season or out of season in which case they will have to be shipped (more $$$). You can save money on flowers by not choosing flowers for your table centerpieces. You can use a variety of other items instead of flowers for centerpieces that will save you a ton of $$$ - the centerpieces are a huge hunk of the cost.
Reply:Mine is about 1,000 for

6 bouquets

6 men's roses

7 corsages

2 dad roses

1 bride bouquet

And I am using ALL roses, no filler.

It really depends on the flower you want to use- something like Daisy are very cheap.
Reply:buy plastic ones there cheaper
Reply:I approached a florist in a local shop and asked if she would like to do my flowers without her boss knowing, she was very flattered and got the flowers direct. It cost me £180.00 for my bouquet, 3 bridesmaids, table decorations(60 grand prix roses) groom, best man,4 ushers, and mums flowers!
Reply:I paid 8o pounds for two bridmaids,6o for mine.i would def shop around before ordering with anyone
Reply:hi megga bucks there not cheep and they do take the piss when its for a special occation
Reply:Hi There

It's a good idea to know what flowers you might like and a rough idea of the costs before you visit the florist - if you know roughly how much you can afford a good florist should work with you to get the flowers you want within your budget.

First of all make a list of the flowers you might like

http://www.myweddingflowerideas.co.uk/we...

Then cost them up to get a rough idea of the budget.

http://www.myweddingflowerideas.co.uk/we...

There's lots of ways to save money like choosing seasonal flowers or flowers that are more cost effective such as Gerbera instead of Calla Lilies - your florist should be able to advise you on this when you visit for your consultation.

Also it's a good idea to get at least three quotes to make sure you get value for money and find a florist that you can work with.
Reply:Using artificial flowers can save you a ton of money and if you are creative you can design the arrangements yourself. If you are set on real flowers check out some online florists, they have some wedding packages available for less than a local florist might charge. If you must use a local florist, use one that isn't very well known in town to save more money. The total amount you can expect to spend depends on how big your venue is and how well it is already decorated and also on how large your wedding party is.
Reply:it depends if you want to use real flowers which in my opinion are way over priced . In the united states roses a dozen are 21.99 down the street from me at the florist . so I guess it depends on what kind of flowers you want as well . I think you would be better off going with artificial flowers and you will always have them to look at later . You cannot do that with real flowers .good luck and congrats on the wedding .
Reply:You can expect to pay anything...from $10 to $10,000 on flowers...it just depends on what you want. My flowers were about $500. I got fake, but I got a lot...well, what seems like a lot to me anyway.

If you want calla lilies, they will cost more. If you want daisies, they will be pretty cheap. Carnations are cheap while roses are more expensive. It just all depends. Talk to a few different florists and look online, compare prices, and pick what you feel is the best deal.
Reply:well for the men id say about 50£ (5men)

for your brides maids id say 100£(5bridsmaids)

for you id says 45-75£ dependning on size and choice of flower , thats prob a average price
Reply:entirely to much
Reply:I live in Michigan. My flower cost is $700, but I found a local florist who doesn't do anything really elaborate, but still does beautiful work. So I was able to get everything I wanted well below what I budgeted ($1200). Make sure to shop around because the second florist we went to had prices that were double the first.

This does not include any kind of centerpieces, as I'm making those myself. It does include everything else: 12 boutonnieres, 8 corsages, 4 bouquets, cake flowers, altar arrangements, and flowers to tuck in the napkins, and rose petals for the cake table. I didn't have to compromise on anything.

And don't do silk flowers for bouquets, boutonnieres, etc. I really think you'd regret. I am filling a tall rectangular vase with water and putting in a silk orchid for each of my centerpieces, but those are the only fake flowers I'm using.
Reply:I bought a variety of silk flowers from ebay and made my own arrangements for the altar and pew ends for our wedding in August 2006. I made 25 buttonholes, my own bouquet and 7 bridesmaids posies. The flowers, foliage, ribbon, tape etc cost no more than 70 pounds and whats more I really enjoyed creating my own, discovered a hidden talent and saved a fortune! I wiil e-mail pics if you like. Good luck!

Where to purchase wedding flowers?

Were getting married in the Spring and have looked into flowers for our wedding at local flower shops and they are quite expensive. I was wondering if there are any ways that we could save money. Or if anyone knows of any cheap places that we could order flowers. Any suggestions/ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Where to purchase wedding flowers?
I found that some sites online had awesome prices for silk, if you would consider silk flowers. I had hot pink peonies as the main flower for my wedding and used silk, and it turned out awesome! (I can send pics of ours if you like!)
Reply:Hobby Lobby and MIchaels run sales periodically. We purchased ours for under $130 for them all. If you have any creative streak in you, try it.
Reply:We're using www.growersbox.com, the online wholesale florist. (Someone else mentioned them earlier.) Their flowers are beautiful, and they have been so helpful -- with everything from the names of the roses we're using and how to care for them to when to order, etc. etc. The Growers Box has several "wedding in a box" packages to choose from... starting with 100 roses, greens and baby's breath for $150.00. (http://www.growersbox.com/wedding-flower... You can also order gerbera daisies, tulips, carnations, lilies, etc.

If you have some crafty friends or relatives, this may be the way to go. You can make your own hand-tied bouquets, corsages and bouttonieres. (Check out: http://www.save-on-crafts.com/roundbouqu... for some ideas.) Then you can put the rest in some nice vases for centerpieces and/or use flower petals as part of the decorations. You can even purchase or rent a large silk flower arrangement and add real flowers to it for more height, depth and beauty.

Good luck on your special day!
Reply:Try the growers box. They have wholesale flower prices to the public.

Reply:If you are in the US, many of the larger chain grocery stores have flower shops in their stores and have arrangement books for weddings. They are less expensive then a florist. Also Sam's Club have different priced wedding packages, my niece is getting married soon and she is getting all the bridal party flowers there. The only negative is they do not deliver... All the best to you and your husband to be...
Reply:tulips pink and greens and sunflowers and lavenders advice
Reply:I had a floral designer at Michael's Craft store make my flowers. They were exquisite. They were colorful and everyone thought they were real. I prefer silk because you don't have to wait for a flower delivery on your wedding day and they won't wilt.

Another alternative for real flowers is Costco.
Reply:If you go to your closest Sam's Club, they have a great selection of fresh flowers. The floral shops in my area purchase their flowers there(and resale them at a huge mark up price). They are cheaper than wholesale flowers.

Should I buy flowers for wedding if I already have sent a present ?

If I have already purchased a present for a friend's wedding via the wedding registry, should I also get the flowers?

I read somewhere that it's not appropriate to give flowers (especially at the church) since it may be not convenient for the bride and the groom to transport the flowers from the church.

But somehow it feels weird to come to a wedding with empty hands, even if the present was already sent to the newlyweds....

Should I buy flowers for wedding if I already have sent a present ?
In todays society, wedding eddiquete is not so black and white.

Who pays for what, the format of the wedding, the gift registry - its all changing. It is an indivual choice either for the bride and groom or the guests.

At the end of the day, it is your choice. If you would feel more comfortable to buy flowers as well, do so. If you feel like the bride and groom are not fussy in that respect, then dont worry, save the money and worry.

Try to interpret how the bride and groom feel. They have set up a registry so that suggests that they have particular things they would prefer and dont really want lots of random gifts. So they probably wont worry about not receiving flowers on the day - as you said it may be inconvenient to handle. Specially if the flowers might stain the dress.

Why dont you go for one of those cards that dangle from ribbon that you slip on the wrist of the bride? They dont have to worry about it then as it just wraps around the wrist and wont get in the way? Plus that way you can write a little note on it for keepsake.

Do what is most comfortable to you, but remember times are changing and everyone seems to take tradition vs modern very different.
Reply:No need to bring flowers if you have already sent the gift.
Reply:If you feel weird going empty handed take a card. You have already sent the gift.
Reply:It's not necessary. Flowers are ready purchased for the wedding. If you have sent a present already then it is ok to come empty handed.
Reply:just bring a card
Reply:I think you should just bring a card, maybe you can put a poem inside or something, but you've already sent a gift, so you're all set! Most people do the same, so there is no need for flowers. The couple may be so involved in getting settled into their home and figuring out what to do with all their gifts and packing that they may not have time to appreciate flowers, although they are a beautiful gesture!

Just hold your handbag in one hand and a cocktail in another... you won't be empty-handed then! :)
Reply:NO YOU DON'T HAVE TO . BUT IF YOU FEEL LIKE IT, GO AHEAD. A WEDDING CAN NEVER HAVE TO MANY FLOWERS ! MAY BE IN A BASKET , IT'S EASIER TO CARRY.
Reply:Yaoflowers.com,One of the best China online florists, is based on China mainland and have flower chain stores in most cities of china. Yaoflowers delivery center can offer many kinds of China flowers, such as roses flower, lily, cream cake in Saint Valentine's Day, Christmas, Spring Festival (Chinese new year ), mother day, father day, mid-autumn festival, etc.

http://www.yaoflowers.com
Reply:If you feel truly out of place coming empty handed bring a really nice card. No one will know if there is a cash gift in there and you can feel like you have something to leave on the gift table.

Save the flowers for their first born child!
Reply:As the mother of the bride last month, I beg you, go to the wedding empty handed. It is the family of the bride/groom who have to load everything brought to the wedding in their vehicles and get them to the home of the new couple, who may be on their honeymoon for a week or two. You sent a gift ahead of time (bless you), and nothing else but your presence at their special day is necessary!

What type of colors for my flowers will look good with my colors burgundy and silver for my wedding party?

What is the cheapest way to buy real flowers for an outdoor wedding in July in Tennessee?

I mean CHEAP. Very tight budget. We can arrange them ourselves... my sister is GREAT at arranging flowers. Any ideas appreciated.

:)

What is the cheapest way to buy real flowers for an outdoor wedding in July in Tennessee?
There are many wholesale places on the web that sell flowers to the average consumer without a vendors liscence. Here are a few websites that I have found that are able to give you low prices.

http://www.onlinewholesaleflowers.com/

www.theflowerexchange.com

I checked out the prices and they are within a few cents of what a retail florist would pay if they bought them from their wholesaler.

I have a floral design degree from Ohio State University and have owned my own flower shop.
Reply:see if you have a flower market in town... the place where the florists buy wholesale... usually anyone can buy there...
Reply:call a florist and ask for ideas. There are some purple flowers that are very inexpensive but I can't remember their name. They would help.

What types and colors of flowers did or will you have at your wedding?

I'm a florist and do flowers for weddings, and I just think it's fun to hear about what everyone does for their wedding.

What types and colors of flowers did or will you have at your wedding?
My bridal bouquet is mango calla lilies, and my bridesmaids are carrying circus roses, charlene red roses, red hypericum. Our reception centerpieces are square glass vases with cut limes in the bottom, with large sunflowers, hot pink roses, orange gerbers, green fugi mum, and red gerbers. The color combination in the centerpieces is GORGEOUS!
Reply:When I got married in 1999 I carried 12 off-white roses with light pink tinting in them, they were short stemmed and I had long off-white and pink sheer ribbons tied around them. THey were beautiful. The boutineers were single roses (same colors) with babies breath. I also had flowers on my 3 tier wedding cake, off white roses with the pink tinting and light pink carnations, babies breath, and pearls hanging on the side of the cake. It was gorgeous. I have never seen a cake as pretty as mine. I wore an off white wedding dress and my husband wore a black tuxedo as did our son.
Reply:Our colours were pink, yellow, lilac and light teal. My bouquet was a European handtied bouquet, rather large so I could carry it along my arm when my husband and I walked up the aisle together. It was a variety of flowers - of what I recall there were roses, stargazer lilies, alstromeria, carns, a spider mum, etc. There were long trailing ribbons in the four colours, so it was cool.

The bridesmaids had smaller, similar bouquets, but each had ribbons in her own colour. (The bridesmaids wore the same dress, white with little flowers in the aforementioned colours, so each attendant couple got a 'colour' - for example, the 'pink' couple - the bridesmaid had a wreath of pink flowers in her hair, and pink ribbons trailing from her bouquet. Her groomsman had a pink bowtie and cummerbund.)

The mens' boutonnieres were mini carns. Had three large floral arrangements for the church (later went to the reception site) in a variety of flowers in our colours.

Yes, we went colour mad, but it was beautiful and happy for a July wedding!

p.s. Rebecca T. - your pics are lovely! What beautiful colours, dresses and flowers! Your and your groom make a gorgeous couple!
Reply:i haven't got married yet but i'm with the person who i hope to marry.. for my wedding i would have orchids.. probably in white and pink.. i think they are beautiful but aren't sure how they'd work in a bouquet
Reply:Calla lillies with alstomerias
Reply:My boyfriend and I are not getting married any time soon but we do often discuss what we would like for our wedding. I want to have a black and white wedding with deep red roses and silver accents.
Reply:my colours for my wedding were pink, silver and white. my flowers wer orchids with pnk roses and these small white lillies I'm pretty sure they said they were. my maid of honours flowers were the same minus the orchids. they were expensive, but beautiful.
Reply:My primary color was deep red with all the other complimentary fall colors- brown, copper, gold, and wine. The bridesmaids all wore different style dresses in these different colors yet same fabric. Flowers were wild flowers and herbs from my mothers garden and ditches. We also had a florist "arrange" them and throw in some roses and callas. I wanted it to look very organic and freshly gathered.

Reply:I had a black and white wedding. For my accent color, my bridemaids carried simple bouquets of red roses. I carried a bouquet of white roses.

We kept to the same theme by using roses throughout the reception hall, etc.
Reply:I am thinking about having deep red and white roses.
Reply:I am getting married next month, and we are having Red Roses, and The deep red looking star-gazers. My boquet will have 9 roses and stargazers, my Bridesmaids will have stargazers only, and our Bouts and crousages will be red roses.
Reply:My colors are apple red, white, and accents of gold. I'm having roses, and stephanotis wrapped in gold ribbon!

Reply:My bouquet was white roses, white spray roses, white stock and stephenotis with the pearls in them. My maid of honor was white roses, pink spray roses and some light blue delphinum. My bridesmaids were pink roses, blue hygrangae, light blue delphinum. The groom had a single white rose, the groomsmen were light blue stephenotis. The mothers were pink roses along with the grandmothers, the dads and grandfather were also pink roses.

The alter arangements were long stem white roses only. 24 in each vase, very simple.

The table arrangements were pink, white and light blue carnations flooting in water bowls over mirrors.
Reply:When I got married the first time I used lavendar roses. My wedding colors were white, lavendar, and silver. I love roses, and esepcially the ones with pretty colors that you don't see all the time
Reply:We had a very tiny family only wedding at a Justice of the Peace, years ago. My fiance and I went in to the florists' to see about flowers.

My fiance asked what was cheapest, so I ended up with 3 carnations in a corsage in pink and white for me, and white carnations for my Mom.

Did not have a maid of honor, and didn't get any flowers for the guys. I don't remember the florist even mentioning them.

I do remember that when Mom was given her corsage, she remarked "funeral flowers." I had not thought of them that way till that moment, but she took all of the joy over the flowers away from me with that remark.
Reply:I'll be married in october and we're looking for flowers to go w our colors still, the main color will be a deep, dark blue. Then we'll have an olivish green and finally a gold very sparsely just to accent the other colors. Maybe you can email me to give some suggestions ( : We were thinking about just white roses or white calla lillies
Reply:I decided that the traditional wedding flowers (roses, calla lillies) were not for me. I'm using dark orange lillies, small gold flowers that look like mums (can't remember the name) and a couple very small dark red flowers (can't remember their name either) It's for a fall wedding, so the bold colors look great.
Reply:my colors were bordeaux (burgundy), gold and ivory. my flowers were green hydrangeas, green hypericum berries, burgundy mini calla lillies, purple tuplips, hand-tied with burgundy ribbon around the stems. the bridesmaids dresses were bordeaux, and they carried green hydrangeas, green hypericum berries, hand-tied with burgundy ribbons. I loved my flowers!!! there were pretty but not too big or complicated, which was good since my dress was a slim A-line/sheath.
Reply:my wedding colors were aqua and silver so we did the flowers springy with pinks, whites, I think the bridesmaids had some yellows..and then lots of greenery

I dont remember much of the bridesmaids..that was my moms thing..but in mine there were lillies, lilacs, roses, and some flowers I dont know

http://www.sunprairiesentryfloral.com/pr... that was the idea of my bouquet but we added more lillies to it and changed the roses to pink and white
Reply:I used silk roses that I bought years ago at Pottery Barn-they were Ivory English roses because I was afraid to use a florist for real flowers. When my sisters got married, their flowers looked horrible, and wilted after the ceremony. Mine, on the other hand, looked gorgeous, and everyone complimented me on my taste.
Reply:2 dozen peach roses for my bouquet. Bridesmaids had white and peach snapdragons (my favorite), peach roses, astromeria and greens.
Reply:my wedding colors were hunter green and white. i have never seen hunter green flowers, so i used white flowers and different shades of pinks
Reply:I will have light purples and pinks and white of course. mayube some coral color too. All fresh and springy colors. :)
Reply:I had an April wedding. I carried orange gerber daisies and everyone else had orange roses. The orange was an awesome contrast to hunter green dresses.
Reply:My boyfriend's mom is a florist, too. We're having calla lilies. Each bridesmaid and I will carry one lily with ribbon up the stem. The guys will wear them, too. Moms will have wrist corsages instead of on their clothes. We haven't decided on centerpieces yet. (Our colors are red, white, and black.)
Reply:White, white and a hint of blue.....Dodgers fan here!
Reply:Getting married in August... my colors are chocolate and pink. I am having white roses, pale pink roses and white hydrangeas all tied with a chocolate colored ribbon.

If you got married how much did your wedding flowers cost all in?

We arranged the flowers ourselves. $500 was the total for the flowers and supplies (tape, wire, ribbon, vases). I was pretty happy with it considering we had roses, orchids and calla lilies...they're not the cheapest flowers.

If you got married how much did your wedding flowers cost all in?
i was lucky, i went to a wedding fair and found a flower company who did it from home so they didnt charge shop prices. And i know somebody who worked for her so i got 30% off.

i got lilac and cream roses for my boquet, three bridesdmaids flowers, 7 buttonholes, three corsages, twelve table decorations for 281.90.

the table decorations were gerbers but others roses.

if you want the website or number i can give you it!!
Reply:check out 50flowers.com its a place to get a lot of flowers for real cheap.... i am using them for my centerpieces....im saving almost 100.00 each for 20 centerpiece bouquets.
Reply:Well, I am not into flowers, so we didn't have any for the centerpieces, just my bouquet, the bridesmaids, just my husband (the groomsmen wore handkerchiefs), and the 2 moms had a flower pin thingy. Total for all that was about $500. If we decided to to floral centerpieces, total would have been $1500. It wasn't important to us, so we saved money that way.
Reply:about £150 for the bouquet and bridesmaid's bouquet, then £350 for the large arrangements for the wedding itself and buttonholes.
Reply:They were just under 800. My bouquet was a European handtied bouquet of mixed flowers (some roses, stargazer lilies, alstromeria, carns, spider mums, etc.), pretty large bouquet. Four attendants had smaller versions. Then the mens' boutonnieres were mini carns, some corsages for family members, too. Had three large floral arrangements, which we used for the church, then at the head table for the reception.
Reply:We are only paying $125 (possibly less). I know a man who sells rose stems made out of wood in our local mall, and they are painted so that they look very similar to real roses. This is the website he gets them from (although I think you might have to buy much bigger quantities on the site), but there are other types of flowers too.

It will only cost us like .25 a stem :) Then we are going to mix them in with other cheaper, real flowers from my parents garden, such as carnations and daisies. They look real even next to the real flowers!

Reply:We're not using flowers in the decorations, so ours are fairly inexpensive. My bouquet will be $75, my MoH's bouquet is $35, the boutonierres are $8 each and the corsages $10 each--all bought from and arranged by a florist.
Reply:A little over £400, I got 3 huge thank you bouquets for my mum, his mother and his sister, plus 2 pomander style bouquets.
Reply:Mine were about $650. Flowers and photographer were the 2 things we spend the most on, besides the rings
Reply:4k we did it in the USA and had a big party when we came back! the cheep way!
Reply:I had 10 bouts, 3 bouquets, corsages and mother's flowers for each of the mothers, plus a few more corsages, and arrangements for the candelabras.

I made all of them myself with flowers I had purchased when they were on sale.

I also bought two fresh calla lilies for the ring bearer to carry (we had a girl ring bearer).

All together I spent about $50 for supplies and flowers.

We used silk arrangements that were at the church that went well with our colors (pink and white)--we got to use them for free.

I didn't feel the need for all the pew bows, and centerpieces. At the reception we just displayed the bouquets at the main table and used balloons for decorations on the other tables (our theme was kids--all our invitations, favors, decorations, etc. had kids of some form--either Anne Geddes or Precious Moments), and the balloons seemed more appropriate (and way more affordable) than flowers!

Reply:About £70. I have hayfever and didn't fancy carrying a real bouquet so I bought two silk bouquets (one for me and one for my bridesmaid). Then I made the buttonholes myself...I just bought the roses, got some safety pins and attached the pins with green florists tape (which my mum had already bought to make the sugar flowers for decorating our cake). I made them the afternoon before and stored them overnight in the fridge.
Reply:I'm getting them from the local flower stall and making up the bouquets ourselves. They will end up costing around £30 ($60) for bouquet and buttonholes for the gents.

Hubby's aunt does flowers for weddings and was able to provide them for us at cost :):)
Reply:$4500 for a rather large wedding, but I used a TON of flowers and had decorated everything inside the church as well as the reception hall.

Reply:Just under $3000. That was for everything...4 bouquets, toss bouquet, 7 boutonnieres, 5 corsages, 25 centerpieces, head table and cake table arrangements, and ceremony arrangement.
Reply:We are paying $4900. That's for the church and reception hall. But we are having 300 people at the wedding, so the cost of table centerpieces is what made it so expensive.
Reply:Can't remember now over 20 odd years ago

Seasonal flowers in October for Wedding Bouquets and illustrations for invitation?
Hey I Googled Fall Flowers and a site came up for wedding flowers, give it a try.Make it more white than the yellows and oranges.Maybe as accents. The tables need to be white for everyone. Then put candles with flowers around it.Make sure the head table stands out.Tell her best wishes....
Reply:Fall leaves, mums, any kind of fall berries. The oranges, rusts, burgundys and dark yellow colors of the fall season all blend together beautifully. I have even done fall flower arrangements using dried wheat stalks for height and color.

I am having a wedding with only white and deep purple any one know what flowers are best?

my wedding is a deep plum purple, i do not like lavender or fuscia colors so i am stumped as what to use. i look through web sites but always see the same old thing. i have not decided on real or fake i am open for anything as long as it looks good. the wedding is very elegant, and i want it to be reflected in the flowers also.

I am having a wedding with only white and deep purple any one know what flowers are best?
Cala Lillies

Roses

Iris/Flags

Stephanotis (white only, smells heavenly)

Daylillies

Orchids

Jasmine

Tulips

Gladiolus

Hydrangeas (for table decor only, they will wilt in bouquets as they need constant water)

Greenery

Ribbon
Reply:this may sound crazy but check it out....i plant monochromatic bulbs in my garden every year and this year i did purple and white. Think about tulips....I grew these tulips that were so dark purple they were almos midnight....and next to the creamy white of the other tulips they looked even more brilliant. If you choose tulips, (make sure you check all the different types...there are some that have flame shaped leaves, and some that look like roses) tell your florist to 'wrap them high'....they will open really fast and the florist tape will help keep the blooms high. Then, with the really dark purple and white, you could add some lavender without it being overpowering.....good luck and have a GREAT wedding....
Reply:Dark purple flowers eh? In a lot of species they call the very dark purple ones 'black'. Knowing that might help you looking for your colour...?

Helpfully for you, many flowers that have 'black' varieties also have white ones.

These are some that you should be able to order from a florist. Most of them come in all sorts of colours, so you'd have to be specific when you arrange your order;

Calla Lily; very dark purple, also come in white

Gladioli; very dark purple, also white

Daylily; dark purple

Iris; very dark purple, also white

Lisianthus; dark purple, also white

Delphiniums; white (through blue to darker blue- think possibly even dark purple)

Anemone; beautiful. if a little small. Also come in white

Sweet William: small, scented, dark colours and white.

Statice ( I personally think this stuff is horrid dry looking and scratchy... but each to their own)

Aster; kind of daisy, also white

and a few that might be trickier to source;

Buddleia; which might be tricky to get unless you have it growing in your garden or near to you. Smells divine and is a nice spire shape. Also come in white

Lilac; ditto tricky, but definitely has dark purple varieties and once again smells divine. Also come in white

Sweet pea; dark and beautifully scented

Hollyhock; dark purple

Petunia; come in very dark purple but isn't any good cut... maybe good as part of a table or other decoration in its pot?

if i were you I'd put any of those flower names into the search field on http://images.google.co.uk

with a colour description like 'black' or 'purple' and see what you like the look of.

best of luck :)
Reply:If you are looking for elegance in your wedding flowers then Calla Lilies are a good choice - their shape is perfect for elegant bouquet styles - try Calla Lily's Picasso or Purple Haze.

Roses are also a good choice for a classic elegant style bouquet - Blue Curiosa or Cool Water roses have a blue tone (try putting these names into google for these images then you can get an idea of what they look like)

Alternatively the modern style of the Calla lily combines perfectly with the traditional rose to create a contemporary classic - or for a more contemporary look perhaps you might like Vanda Orchids which are beautiful.

To add your unique style consider adding gorgeous ribbon or diamante to your wedding bouquet for extra wow factor.

Your florist should also be able to give you lots of ideas - make sure you let them know exactly what style you are looking for and take along pictures of what you like.
Reply:there are bright purple flowers that look like daisy's tha are nice and would look nice for yor wedding and also there are white rosees you can use or get the special painted with an aersol some places can do that. just choose the flower you want and they can aersol them on the ends and it will look awsome but it depends where you live there is also orchids in a colr purple those are really nice
Reply:Petunias come in purple and white and they smell great too!!!
Reply:I love Carnations. They aren't very expensive (always an issue) and they are hearty and sturdy for bouquets. They also have a very pleasing scent. To this day I still think of my cousin's wedding when I smell one. I was the flower girl some 30 years ago. Her colors were maroon and pink. Her wedding was very elegant, even in retrospect. You can get carnations in almost any color, and they look beautiful with roses, should you want to infuse a few into your bride bouquet with some baby's breath.

What type of flowers are goo for a wedding?

My colors are red and white. I don't really want roses but it is going to be a semi-formal wedding for all. It's not that I don't like roses, I just kind of want to do something different. So, any suggestions on red flowers that will look good in a boquet and center pieces?

Red and white lilies would look great. i included a picture so you could get an idea of the look you might want. congrads.

Reply:How about red carnations and white spider mums, they are lovely together and compliment each other in a bouquet. Scatter baby's breath and green fern to hold it all together. It should be lovely. Congratulations and have a great time on your big day.
Reply:Check with your florist about what is in season during that season. You will get your best deal and beautiful flowers with a good florist no matter what kind of flowers you choose!
Reply:Tulips, lillies, hibiscus, gerber daisies.
Reply:Red carnations and white crystal chrysanthemums. Those would make a beautiful bouquet.
Reply:Carnations are pretty in centrepieces and will look nice mixed in a bridal bouquet too.

Reply:don't know how to spell it...but lysianthus are beautiful - similar to roses but soft edges - great for weddings. I had them in my bouquet and they were gorgeous. All the best with choosing!
Reply:I had lilies and roses. and it turned out beautiful. I didn't want roses either, but once I saw a bouquet of lilies and roses my heart was set. My friend had calalilies and my cousin had daisies. It just depends on what you like. It's your wedding. Do what you want with it.

Reply:I was like you and did not want roses because I thought since the girls dresses were red they would carry white and I would carry red. But then I found this website (silkspecialites.com) that sells silk flower bouquets. They sent me some samples and I played around with them. I ended up picking a burgundy, mauve, and ivory. I was a little nervous about the difference in color between the dresses and flowers but they turned out beautiful. I got so many compliments. Nobody knew they were silk and I didn't have to worry about them dying in the heat. I now have some of the bouquets in vases on my mantel. Its a nice memory!

Stay away from carnations, as they look like they are funeral flowers.

What type of flowers are good for Wedding Favors?

We are having a Garden wedding. and for our favors we are going to by small pots and have our names/date calligraphed on them. We want to plant seeds in them and let it be a surprise as to what flowers will bloom. But we can't even figure out what flower to put inthem!?!

Any ideas on A small (and will stay small) purple or blue flower that is low maintanance that we could plant in the pots?

What type of flowers are good for Wedding Favors?
Forget-me-nots. However, I think it may be a better idea to just have the decorated pots, fill with excelsior or spanish moss, and just include seed packets - then it won't be messy with the soil for the guests.
Reply:Don't. Those of us that live in apartments or don't garden thank-you.
Reply:what about thoses mini pom pom flowers they are very low machinace and come in alots of colors

If you purchased your wedding flowers from Costco, what was your experience?

I noticed that Costco sells wedding flower pkgs and would like to hear from those that have actually used them for their weddings. What was your experience and the quality of the flowers? Here is a link to one of the packages they offer:

If you purchased your wedding flowers from Costco, what was your experience?
i haven't actually bought flowers from them but i think we will my fiance works for Costco and they treat every member amazing. you 'll save a ton of money too. good luck!
Reply:i'm not sure about price club, but my niece purchased 200 roses from roses.com and paid next to nothing, they ship and then you can arrange your own centerpieces and bouquets...simple and elegant. Just bunch some together for your bouquets and wrap with wide satin ribbon in your choice of color, secure with pearl straight pins...
Reply:I didn't use them for our wedding (we didn't have a Costco yet), but I buy bunches of flowers from them all the time. The roses seem to last several days longer than the ones I've gotten from other places, and they're always beautiful. I think I've only ever had one bunch (in nearly 7 years) that didn't last.
Reply:i heard that they are full of pesticides so just get them froma florist that you know supplies only organic flowers. it;s the safe and right thing to do.

Use candle as centerpieces instead of flowers for wedding?

I have been looking at flowers for 10 tables and it is too costly. Any web sites that shows where they use candles as centerpieces? Any candle centerpieces ideas would be greatly appreciated.Thank You.

Use candle as centerpieces instead of flowers for wedding?
the good thing is you can make your own decorations using candles and it looks better than flowers anyway. I love floating candles and rose petals (dont need to be real)

Reply:I am using candles as centerpieces for my reception tables. My colors are bark brown, burnt orange and red. I am having each pillar candle in a different color, %26amp; a different height on a square mirror in the center of the table.

I might but some ribbon around them, or some stones on the mirrors or something just for some details, but i don't know yet.
Reply:We used candle centerpieces. We found wine bottle holders that had a place for a candle on each side on the bottle. We put a bottle of wine for each table and had the candles lit just before dinner.

A few flowers and some tulle were placed at the base of each.

They have some beautiful candle centerpieces. You can buy kits from them, but most of the stuff on the website you could probably do yourself.
