Can i get decent wedding flowers with an $800 budget?

I have 7 long tables (16 seats) and want small pots of flowers along them, maybe 8 per table so i'll need 56 small centerpieces. how much might that cost?

100ppl

total budget 14000

rings are over 2000

Can i get decent wedding flowers with an $800 budget?
I think you should be able to get atleast 40 small pots of flowers ($20 per pot x 40 = $800). You can definitely get pots with a single orchid for $20 and I think that would look very stylish. I'm not sure where is the best place to get it, but I think I've seen those at places like Home Depot. Look around at a few places for prices, and make sure their flowers don't look wilted.
Reply:I don't know where you live but you can get miniature rose bushes from a florist for about $3-$5/ pot. So you could easily do it for well under $800. You could then use the rest for some ivy or get some fabric and votive candles to go in between the miniature roses. In fact, you could get 100 of them for less than $800 and use them as both your table decorations and your favors as well. You could put some around the cake table and scatter some on the buffet table and the table where the guest book and container for cards will be.
Reply:Well I'm not sure how small you are talking about but normally it's one centerpiece per 10 guests. So you would only need 10 centerpieces right? 7 tables with 16 seats would be enough room for 112 people that would be closer to 11 or 12 centerpieces but to make it look even you might want to do one per ever 8 guests (every four chairs if you're doing seating on both sides of the tables), making the centerpiece total 14. You can do very small ones but I really don't think you need 56 of them. The less you have the more easy it's going to be to stay in budget. I know we went with a really great florist, we have 18 tables (one centerpiece per table) and are using orchid sprays in tall crystal vases. That costed us about $1200 just for the centerpieces. If you use less costly flowers, flower holders, etc.. it will def. work.

Sorry if I wasn't a ton of help!
Reply:It will be hard to find a florist that will be able to do anything really for that price. That's like $14 per arrangement. My friends wedding had 3 gerberas per vase done by a florist and it was like $20 each. However, you can easily do it yourself for that.

Craft stores sell pots, and so do places like Target (and vases too).

I've used these website for flowers

www.growersbox.com

www.flowerbud.com

www.pacificcallas.com

flowers with hardy stem and small flowers (mini callas, orchids, stock...) are very easy to arrange. things like roses take a little more work, but aren't too bad.
Reply:absolutely if your willing to do them yourslef. Put 100 away to buy your bouquet. however everything else can be done at your local grocery store. If your a member at costo, even better. Someone mentioned Downtown LA, my expierence is they tend to have a lesser quality for that cheap price. you may be wilting by noon ya know.
Reply:first off, do they have to be real ? or can they be fake? because if u go to michaels craft store, they sell tons of different little centerpieces. they can even order big quantaties if you need them to. i work there. good luck! also, they are inexpensive, and if you order a lot, they will give you a volume discount
Reply:I think that is reasonable - as long as you don't want 10 roses per centrepeice!!! There are some lovely arrangements that use more greenery and therefore keep the price down. I did that for my wedding and it worked fine. Talk to the florists and get some ideas.
Reply:you didnt even say what country you are in..

China?? Chile?? Canada??

I suggest buying LIVE PLANTS from a green house and just putting colored paper around the bottoms...

Marigolds? Mums? Petunias? Pansys?

here is another link with a different idea

Reply:Try Costco--they sell wedding flowers. You can order them online, and pick them up at your local warehouse club.

Reply:You may have to order the flowers from somewhere like growersbox.com and do the centerpieces yourself. 56 centerpieces is alot for 800. Plus you need bouquets for yourself and bridesmaids, and boutiners.
Reply:why don't you get a super nice center piece for the wedding party's table, and then use rose petals and candles (or even floating candles in nice bowls) for the other tables.
Reply:You definately should be able to. To same money, also, you can ask the florist if they have fake flowers that they can mix in with your real flowers. It can save a lot of money!
Reply:TrySilk flowerrs. They look real and you can save money. If you want real then try discount florists. Look for florists that are busy all the time. They might have a group of flowers they are unable to sell.
Reply:flowers yes. nice flowers no
Reply:Yes! Go to Downtown Los Angeles
Reply:Go to Home Depot or Lowes garden center

find nice plants and decorate them!
Reply:yes
Reply:I'm sorry, but $14,000 is a ridiculous waste of money to be spending on a wedding. Especially for only 100 people. That kind of money could go to much better causes. I would suggest only using about $200 to plant your flowers in pots that you buy. Costco sells flowers, potted and stemmed, for very cheap. Just remember, after your wedding, that all those expenses mean nothing, they are not going to have any factor on how successful your marriage is. What are you going to do with 56 potted plants afterwards? That is also something you're going to have to consider.
