The big advantage to silk flowers is the money you would save by using them. You can do the arrangements yourself ahead of time and you can choose whatever flowers you like, not just what you can afford. If you like the idea of real flowers, you could use real flowers for the bridal bouquet and use silk flowers for the other arrangements.
Another con to real flowers is they may not last through the wedding. My daughter was married on a rather warm summer day and even though we kept the flowers refrigerated up to the last minute and in water, they went downhill very rapidly. Real flowers are nice; the beauty and the smell, but there are disadvantages to using them.
What are the pros and cons of using real flowers and silk flowers for a wedding?
Silk flowers will look cheap and cheesy....... Real ones are much more beautiful!
Reply:There's nothing wrong with using silk flowers at all.
However, I chose to use fresh, because we had four wedding colours, so used mixed bouquets with those colours, and they were just so happy and beautiful. Nothing compares to the beauty of fresh flowers.
And, frankly, the wedding was going to be the only occasion EVER in which I'd have a bouquet - so I wanted to do the flowers fresh and beautiful!
Reply:real flowers-look real, smell great, can be preserved-INSANELY expensive, especially exotic flowers
fake-sometimes look fake, dont have the scent but can be found dirt cheap on sale, never fade or wilt, sometimes you can find really nice, realistic flowers. You can buy months ahead of time!
Reply:i think its really your prefrence and all on how you arange them.. my friend had silk flowers for her bridesmaid bouquetts and they came out really pretty.... her flowers were real of course..
Reply:The pros to real is that they give you that look and smell of the season, they look just beautiful and they show class, the cons of the real is that they dont last long and are not cheap, im thinking thats why some people go to silk flowers and some silk flowers look real but in the end there fake, but the pro is that you get to keep them as they are forever.
