What flowers are in season in august? this is for a wedding so flowers for bouquets and vases are best.?
Most flowers are in full bloom in august, so you have many seasonal flowers to choose from. A few spring flowers such as lilly of the valley, lilac and freesias would not be available (or would be imported from another hemishere and cost a fortune).

There are also many hothouse blooms to choose from...

You should be able to get most varieties of roses, lillies, etc.

Calla Lillies (Zantesdechia) have new varieties with smaller flowers and different colours. Very stylish..

Chrisanthemums (there are tiny varieties (such as "funshine") that look great in bridal bouquets and floral arrangements.

Alstroemerias have many colour combinations, are very lovely and last well.

Stephanotis are also a beautiful creamy white star shaped flower with a lovely perfume...

Carnations are a flower available all year, as are roses...

The tiny filler flowers are usually varieties of limonium or gypsophilla (the millionstar variety is the prettiest).

Orchids are also winderful, usually hothouse flowers, there are several small varieties that make great bridal bouquets... The dendrobium, mini-cimbidium and phalenopsis are my favourites. I once made a bridal bouquet with simply 3 cattleya orchids (these are the large ones) surrounded with gypsophilla and leather fern for the backing.

Very simple, and magnificent...

If you want a special colour scheme, choose your flowers at least a month beforehand, so your florist will be able to order them for you and have them on time.
Reply:Blooming time of most flowers are August. That is Rose, Dahlia, Gladiolus, Chrysanthemum, Allamanda, Bougainvillea, Aster,Marigold , salvia etc.

rose flowers and gladiolus are used for bouquest.

rose, aster, gladiolus, chrysanthemum, salvia are best for vase flower arrengment.
Reply:Hi There are lots of flowers in season during August which one's you choose depends on the style and theme of your wedding. If you have a colour scheme in mind that can help you narrow down the choice.

Imagine masses of old-fashioned pink and white garden roses, combined with peonies - pretty feminine and romantic, or peonies which come in a range of strong or soft colours, are wonderfully fragrant and typically Country garden in style.

Try tone on tone - use different shades from the same colour range to add extra depth and interest to your arrangements try Hydrangeas, Delphinium and Lavender together -

Hydrangeas can be bought as pot plants or as cut flowers; they come in blues, whites, pinks and pale green and their huge flower heads have real impact.

Or if you would like more of a contemporary feel how about gerbera or orchids.

Have fun looking for ideas.
